Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Soccer season is officially underway! So I bet you can guess what happened this weekend!

I never thought I would be a "soccer mom" but when your daughter is a natural, your forced into the obligation. I wouldn't change it for anything!

So Friday night consisted of... Soccer

I'm still trying to get into the swing of things and juggle this new season in with all the rest of life's craziness. So yes I forgot her shorts in the wash... But I improvised :-)

Saturday consisted of... Soccer

We experienced our first fundraising car wash on Saturday and I was able to dust off my cheerleader sign making skills.

Man, if I was good at anything as a cheerleader it was the creative, crafty side... Pep assemblies, fundraisers, etc.

You see that white sticker behind Lexi's head above?!

Yeah, that's a "Soccer Mom" pride decal... Never thought I would do that either! At least I'm not driving a minivan....Yet!

The girls were able to raise a decent amount of money, so the day ended well.

Saturday night I worked at the job.. Off at 7am Sunday morning... Kids up and at 'em at 8am... Blankets high jacked at 8:30... I'm choaxed out of my comfy bed by 9:00am...

My day consisted of coffee, coffee and more coffee!

I was like an energizer bunny knocking out projects left and right... Until about 4pm. If you missed my project you'll find it Here.

At which point the 24 hours awake set in... My eyes were droopy and I was delirious...

The kids too FULL advantage of their sleepy momma at that point!

Requesting to play with Play-Doh... I get it out and enjoy the piece and quite only to find them playing nicely together...

Mashing Play-Doh onto the stove top.. Oops!

We cleaned up the mess and decided swimming would be a better idea.

I make another iced coffee but at this point caffeine no longer phases me... But like the energizer bunny I HAD to keep going.

Matthew (5) was the only one who enjoyed my drink, thinking it was a shake he takes a sip and says "Mom, did you know if kids drink coffee it means their Mexican?!" Umm, no I sure did not know that! So I ask him where he learned that from... "The Kicking and Screaming movie."

I don't remember that part in the movie but it was still a good laugh after such a LONG day!

Bedtime came early and today I need some good eye cream for these bags!

But have a great week!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was an interesting one!

Saturday started with cleaning the split pea soup of a pool and picking up the house.. That's not thel interesting part....

Let me just stop here and say having a pool is more then a headache! Whoever (me) thought that amenity was a good idea?!

Next time I will think things thru and hire a Channing Tatum look-alike pool boy to make the headache a little more tolerable. At least then I won't notice the green pool as much, I'll be too busy gawking at the hired hunk :-)

Anyway, Saturday evening we hung out with old friends and barbequed. Not at our house obviously since our pool looks like a lagoon!

We brought the sides, mashed potatoes and Mac 'n cheese... Matt slaved over them all day ;-)

We played a few games of horse shoes and Hubby showed off his amazing athletic ability....

Or lack there of...

I'm not a pro or anything but tossing over hand doesn't even LOOK like a good idea...

It goes without saying but those techniques did NOT work, however they sure made for good laughs :-)

We were having a great time but was cut short when our friends realized they were allergic to us...

Her eye swelled up like a baseball...

Benadryl was the Debbie-Downer of the night... So we said our goodbyes and headed home...

Sunday consisted of family time...school supply shopping, jamming out to One Direction (Lexi's newest PHASE), treating the kids to dinner out (McDonald's DUH!) and winding down with a "SPY-mEEan" marathon...

Pools still green.....

Matt's still perfecting his horse shoe skills...

And our friends' eye is still swollen...

But I'd say it was a great weekend!

Next time we will prep the potatoes with Benadryl to prevent allergic reactions to our "awesomeness"....

And maybe go bowling since Matt has better form for that activity...

And settle for a rusty pool boy to care for the pool....

Have a great week!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was full of firsts....

Saturday night was Date Night for the hubs and I! Yes, this was a first. We hired a sitter and headed out on the town.....

Hubby dusted off his Charlie Sheen shirt and took the time to clip his nails (I didn't realize that was a man priority before going out)

Twenty goodbye kisses and hugs later we finally get out the door to start our evening...

Salsa and margaritas! Best combo ever! My margarita was bigger than my head so one was plenty!

Apparently everyone and their brother was celebrating birthdays while we ate, the staff attempted several times to chant the Happy Birthday Song, clap and play the guitar but could never get it right! Lets just say they won't be appearing on Americas Got Talent! It was more of a headache then anything. Poor guys sure tried though!

We finish up and head to our next destination... We walked up and down the street scoping out our options. I wanted to dance.... He didn't. We compromise and head into the next drinking establishment we come to.... A pool bar :-/

We didn't even play pool.... We are so lame!!

I kicked hubby's booty in some pinball though!

I acquired my skills from the laundry mat growing up. Who knew those poor mans skills would come in handy!

We made a few friends and headed home...

I swear our nights out used to be much more eventful but it was a nice time anyways!

Sunday, we tried getting ahold of our new friends....

I'm either dyslexic or they gave wrong numbers :-/. I'll go with dyslexic... we are way too cool to not hang out with :-)

Anyways.. We ended our weekend at hubs boss's pool party (never met that group before! Another first).

We had crispy dry ribs and fresh veggies from the garden. I think the flies found the food more appetizing but we had some good laughs. We called it an early night and went home to relax. Cuddled up, watched a $5 bin movie and recapped our weekend.

We definitely lost our touch when it comes to socializing but we enjoyed each others company and that's all that matters :-)

Maybe your weekend was more exciting... If so, tell me about it! Have a great week!
